Alicja at a family compound in Indonesia

I’m a traveler, photographer and an adventurer. My first trip was at the young age of 3 when I flew with my mother to visit my grandparents in Poland. I know that I caught the “wanderlust” of adventure at that age.

Bora, Bora in the South Pacific

I have always sought out new destinations to travel to. At first I traveled with my parents and siblings although the most memorable times traveling was when I explored and photographed destinations on my own.  I began my solo travel adventures after my divorce and once my children were already adults.

Solo travel was for me – Tanna Island in Vanuatu, Israel, the Holy Land, Samarai Island, Cuba are some of the more recent destinations.  Discovering the culture, discovering a location through its people and capturing amazing photographs are my own enrichment.  A mind that is awakened by new experiences can never go back to its old dimension. CNN travel adventurer Anthony Bourdain captured the essence of why I travel solo:

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you – it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you…  and hopefully, you leave something good behind.”
